My first thoughts were this can’t be real before I clicked the video. Then I thought he was going to blow his knee out or something. I personally always hated squats, they can be painful if you don’t lift properly. But this guy did an amazing job. Check the video out below.

In the middle of a Canada Lingerie Football game between the Rage and Toronto Triumph last week, Johnson rolled to her left and made her way to the end zone. But Toronto’s Devine Burton stood in her way right at the goal line. That’s when Johnson lowered her left shoulder and drove it right into Burton laying her out on her back.

Johnson easily scored and the Rage went on to win 40-32.

According to TMZ reports:

NBA forward Matt Barnes was arrested tonight for an outstanding traffic warrant, and for allegedly mouthing off — BIGTIME — to the arresting officer, TMZ has learned.

According to law enforcement sources, Barnes was busted by police in Manhattan Beach, CA for a misdemeanor traffic warrant, and we’re told he also resisted the arresting officer.

Barnes is currently being booked by Manhattan Beach PD for the traffic violation, and for resisting an executive officer … a felony.

According to our sources … Matt was walking in Manhattan Beach around 8:30PM when he was first approached by Manhattan Beach PD — and when officers ran a check on him they discovered a massive $26,000 unpaid traffic warrant for driving on a suspended license.

Unfortunately, The International Olympic Committee (IOC) in charge of the two week marathon of athletic excellence, was not having any of it and told the swimmer to he wouldn’t get his Gold medal if he wore his iced out grill to the winner’s podium. It’s strange to think that the IOC would withhold a medal, especially if that medal so happens to be Gold,  for wearing a piece of jewelry as a show of pride for his country. Everything turned out alright in the end; Ryan Lochte got his Gold medal and even got to flaunt his iced out fronts next to his shiny new prize.

Vi Ripken was found unharmed in her car at 6:15 a.m. Wednesday in Aberdeen, some 25 miles from Baltimore, after being kidnapped by a man who forced her into her car between 7 and  8 a.m. Tuesday, police say.

“This has been a very trying time for our family, but we are grateful and relieved that mom is back with us, safe and healthy,” the Ripken family said in a statement. “We want to thank everyone for their tremendous support, especially all of the law enforcement agencies that worked so hard and quickly.”

The FBI and Maryland State Police are also investigating the incident.

Vi Ripken told police her abductor was a tall, thin white man who wore glasses. Authorities don’t know if he knew the Ripken family or made any demands, FBI spokesman Rich Wolf said.

Ripken is a Hall of Fame shortstop who became known as “Iron Man” for playing a record 2,632 consecutive games during his 21-year career with the Baltimore Orioles. His brother, Bill, is also a former major league player and their late father, Cal Sr., was a major league manager.

The statue portraying Paterno leading players out of the tunnel will be taken down in the aftermath of the Jerry Sandusky scandal and the report conducted by former FBI director Louis Freeh.

According to NFL Network journalist Kim Jones’ recent tweet:

“Am told that Penn State plans to take down the Paterno Statue this weekend.”

Other reports surfaced Friday morning, with ESPN’s Bonnie Bernstein tweeting that the Penn State Board of Trustees made the decision via conference call on Thursday night.

The decision to take the statute down or keep it up sparked intense debate over the past week, even as a plane was spotted flying over the State College, Pa. campus with a banner reading, “Take down the statue or we will.”

Paterno’s name was already removed from the area where students camp out for tickets before football games.

In Freeh’s report, Paterno, among many other Penn State officials, were accused of hiding “critical facts relating to Sandusky’s child abuse from the authorities, the board of trustees, Penn State community, and the public at large.”

Looks like Penn State is erasing the memory of Joe Pa and turning the page on his legacy.

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant turned himself into police yesterday, after he allegedly hit his mother in the face with his baseball cap and grabbed her by the shirt, ripping her bra.

According to arrest documents obtained by TMZ:

Cops were dispatched to Bryant’s mother’s home in DeSoto, Texas on July 14 at 1:47 PM after receiving a 911 call reporting an assault — family violence.

Once cops arrived to the scene, Dez’s mom Angela told cops she had gotten into an argument with Dez and demanded that he leave the home … and that’s when Dez got physical.

On the 911 call, Angela says, “My son has assaulted me. He’s here now. He won’t go home. I keep telling him to go, he won’t go.” You can clearly hear an argument in the background as Angela says, “I can’t let him keep doing me like this. I’m gonna put an end to it today.”

According to the documents, cops returned to Angela’s home 2 days later and she complained of pain in her wrists, hands and arms .. and said her chest was sore from Dez pushing her.

Cops say they observed bruising in her upper arm. The docs list Dez Bryant as being 6’1″, 198 pounds.

Bryant was booked for assault on a family violence charge, which is a Class A misdemeanor.

Kidd was reportedly in a lone accident around 1a.m. and was clearly intoxicated.

TMZ reports:

Kidd was the lone passenger in the accident, which police say happened around 1:56 AM. Police at the scene described Kidd as “being intoxicated.”

He was taken to a local hospital to treat minor injuries. After being released from the hospital, he was transported to the local police station for processing.

Cops say the all-star point guard was then arraigned on a misdemeanor DWI charge in Southampton Town Justice Court and later released on his own recognizance.

Sag Harbor attorney Eddie Burke Jr. said he is representing Kidd and was on his way to speak with Kidd late Sunday morning.

Burke says:

“We await further discovery from the district attorney’s office,”

In an update on the story TMZ reports that Jason had to be carried out of a night club right before the incident and was causing quite some ruckus.

TMZ has obtained the photo above, of the all-star point guard being carried out of a club called SL East. Multiple witness tell TMZ that Kidd appeared “incredibly drunk” — so much so that at one point he tried to hang from a club light and broke it.

According to the multiple witnesses, after being carried out by a few friends, Kidd got in his car to drive off … despite protests from his friends. Kidd left the club around 1:00 AM and crashed his car less than an hour later.

The former Dallas Maverick player just signed a three year $9.5 million dollar contract with the New York Knicks last week.

“It’s simple,” Robles says. “If a company wants to advertise their brand, there’s no benefit in sponsoring you if you’re not getting any exposure.”

As an Olympian, Robles doesn’t have to pay for her own travel, lodging and food in London. Neither does her mother, Joy, who won a special grant for Olympic parents from Procter & Gamble.
“I really didn’t think I had a chance in hell of going,” says Joy, who has only been able to afford to see her daughter lift competitively three times. “We’re so used to not good stuff happening, so this is just kind of mind-boggling.”
Since the Olympics began hosting women’s weightlifting in 2000, only two American women have ever earned medals, both at the inaugural Sydney games: Tara Nott, who won gold in the flyweight category, and Cheryl Haworth, who earned bronze in super heavyweight, Robles’ category. If she does medal, Robles says her chances of landing more sponsorships won’t dramatically increase — after all, they didn’t increase much for Cheryl Haworth after her win at age 17. Following Haworth’s second Olympics, she had to sell her house and move to the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs.
“Being an Olympian isn’t always glamorous. We don’t get tons of dough. Maybe one or two percent of athletes can actually make a living off it,” says Haworth, 29, who retired two years ago and now works as an admissions officer for the Savannah College of Art and Design. “It’s a sacrifice that not everyone is willing to make. Not everybody is willing to scrounge or figure out how to pay those bills … Sarah’s ability to get through those tough times really sets her apart.”

Robles wants to teach P.E. when she retires from weightlifting — sometime in the next four to 10 years, she says. When she’s not training, she blogs, crafts and goes to church. She went on a few dates before the Olympic trials, but she’s shy, and it’s hard to find a guy who’s comfortable dating a woman who’s bigger, taller and completely committed to her training.
“I still have bad thoughts about myself, but I’ve learned that you have to love yourself the way you are,” Robles says. “I may look like this, but I’m in the Olympics because of the way I am.”
Robles has become a role model to the bigger girls who come work out in her Mesa, Ariz., gym. She’s not entirely comfortable with the idea of being someone’s mentor, but she’s easing herself into the job. On her blog, she shares weightlifting tips and stories of being a plus-size athlete. She also has a Twitter and Facebook page, where she shares her mantra, “Beauty is strength,” with about 350 followers. It’s become her personal brand, and if she’s lucky, sponsors with a similar message will catch on.

Still, Robles and Micela aren’t overly optimistic about her chances in London. Robles might be the best in the U.S., but the current women’s world record is about 150 pounds over her personal best.
“If she beats her own record, I’ll be happy,” says Micela, whom Robles calls her “number one sponsor.”
“I’ve learned that if you love yourself now, you can do amazing things. If you don’t, you’re closing so many doors,” Robles says. “It’s not an easy thing to do. It takes work and it takes practice. Just like my sport.”
