BREAKING NEWS: Jason Kidd Arrested… (DETAILS)
News just broke that NBA baller, Jason Kidd was arrested for a DWI in Southhampton early this morning.
Kidd was reportedly in a lone accident around 1a.m. and was clearly intoxicated.
TMZ reports:
Kidd was the lone passenger in the accident, which police say happened around 1:56 AM. Police at the scene described Kidd as “being intoxicated.”
He was taken to a local hospital to treat minor injuries. After being released from the hospital, he was transported to the local police station for processing.
Cops say the all-star point guard was then arraigned on a misdemeanor DWI charge in Southampton Town Justice Court and later released on his own recognizance.
Sag Harbor attorney Eddie Burke Jr. said he is representing Kidd and was on his way to speak with Kidd late Sunday morning.
Burke says:
“We await further discovery from the district attorney’s office,”
In an update on the story TMZ reports that Jason had to be carried out of a night club right before the incident and was causing quite some ruckus.
The site got their hands on the photo above, of the baller with a hand pulling him back and they report:
TMZ has obtained the photo above, of the all-star point guard being carried out of a club called SL East. Multiple witness tell TMZ that Kidd appeared “incredibly drunk” — so much so that at one point he tried to hang from a club light and broke it.
According to the multiple witnesses, after being carried out by a few friends, Kidd got in his car to drive off … despite protests from his friends. Kidd left the club around 1:00 AM and crashed his car less than an hour later.
The former Dallas Maverick player just signed a three year $9.5 million dollar contract with the New York Knicks last week.
